Ingredients
- 3 peeled potatoes, cut into french fries
- 2 garlic cloves, crushed
- 1 teaspoon red chili powder
- 2 teaspoons tomato sauce
- salt to taste
- 1-1/2 Tablespoons Chipotle Olive Oil or Baklouti Green Chili Oil
- FOR THE SAUCE
- 1 Tablespoon tomato sauce
- 1 teaspoon red chili sauce
- 2 teaspoons vinegar
- 2 garlic cloves, crushed
- 1-1/2 teaspoons honey
- 1 teaspoon chopped cilantro leaves (optional) or green onion
- 1/2 Tablespoon Chipotle Olive Oil or Baklouti Green Chili Oil
- Toasted sesame seeds
Instructions
- Place potatoes in a large zip lock bag with the oil, red chili powder, tomato sauce, crushed garlic and salt and shake well. Use your hands to spread the mixture around the potatoes.
- After greasing a baking sheet, spread the potatoes out on the tray in a single layer and bake for 35-40 minutes at 200 degrees. Turn the potatoes halfway during the baking process.
- Heat a frying pan, add oil, add the crushed garlic and sauté on high for a few seconds. Add the red chili sauce, tomato sauce and vinegar and mix together. When well mixed, add the baked potatoes and toss for a minute on medium-high. Add the honey and toss all until well combined. Remove pan from heat. Add more salt if necessary.
- Sprinkle toasted sesame seeds and add green onions or cilantro leaves. Combine.
- Serve as a side dish or an appetizer.
